If you’ve experienced a tooth loss and are suffering with a gap in your smile or bite, a dental bridge may be suitable for you.
What is a dental bridge?
Dental bridges are commonly used to cover a space if you’re missing one or more teeth. Fixed bridges are cemented to adjacent teeth, be they natural or implants, on either side of where the missing tooth once stood. In addition to strengthening a damaged tooth, dental bridges can be used to improve a tooth’s appearance, shape, alignment, and dental occlusion (bite). Gaps left by missing teeth can cause the remaining teeth to shift, which can result in a misaligned bite. Bridges help prevent this from happening.
Replace missing teeth with porcelain bridges
Porcelain bridges are a popular type of bridge, and are a great replacement option for missing teeth. They can be shaped to replicate the original teeth and bite pattern. Porcelain is a very durable material that can withstand the mechanics of your natural bite, and will naturally mimic the appearance and function of your ordinary tooth enamel.
In-house teeth restoration options available
Here at Naenae Dental Clinic with our experienced team we can create natural, and aesthetically pleasing restorations in-house using our computer-aided design technology. This technology allows us to design in-depth restorations, measuring your natural bite and tooth orientation so that the bridge restoration will fit seamlessly onto your teeth.
Alternatively, Implant-supported dental bridges are another option for replacing missing teeth. Instead of being supported by crowns or frameworks, these bridges are supported by dental implants.
Here at Naenae Dental Clinic we are proud that we do not work with any overseas laboratories. This allows us to ensure the highest quality results for our patients. Give us a call or visit our Wellington dental clinic for more information.
