Dental Implants

If you have one or more missing teeth or have broken or decayed teeth that might be beyond repair, dental implants are usually the answer. Using modern techniques, implants are made to look and feel as close to your natural teeth as possible which can greatly improve your speech, comfort while eating, self-esteem, and smile aesthetics.

What is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is a titanium post (like a tooth root) that is surgically positioned into the jawbone beneath the gum line. This acts like a root replacement and allows your dentist to mount a custom made crown on top to replace the missing tooth. Two or more implants can be used to support a bridge to replace multiple teeth. Both front and back teeth can be replaced by implants, and they can also be used to hold dentures in place. Because implants fuse to your jawbone (with a process called osseointegration), they provide stable support for artificial teeth.

The Dental Implant Process

Here at Naenae Dental Clinic our principal dentist Dr. Hamid Al-Hassiny has undergone extensive training worldwide and is astute in implant surgery. He takes a conservative approach to assess if implants are appropriate.

Planning the position and number of implants is key to the long-term health of the dental implant since forces on your teeth created during chewing can be significant.

The position of implants is determined by the position and angle of surrounding teeth. By using computed tomography (3D x-rays), computer aided designed simulations, and surgical guides called stents, Dr. Hamid is able to guarantee the best possible longevity and success of your dental implants.
