Meet The Team

Throughout my career, I have always strived to learn new techniques and use the latest equipment. I love the process of learning and mastering something new and then seeing how this benefits my patients. I also enjoy passing on this new information to other dentists which helps them overcome the challenges I faced when I was a young dentist. As the founder of Naenae Dental Clinic, my constant drive to learn and try new things has been behind much of what we do every day.

I have always been fascinated with dentistry, as a child I remember watching my father working as a dentist while I was growing up. Often I would drop into his clinic after school and observe all the different procedures and techniques. I did not choose dentistry but it chose me! I have a passion for supporting people to be the best they can be. My role in Naenae Dental Clinic gives me the opportunity to use my skills and experience to do what I enjoy most – look after my patients.

Dr. Ahmad Al-Hassiny is a global leader in digital dentistry and intraoral scanners, carrying out lectures internationally. Having graduated from the University of Otago with First Class Honours and being awarded many clinical and research prizes, Dr Ahmad has continued his pursuit of excellence in dentistry.

He has carried out many aspects of complex digital dentistry, including CAD/CAM full mouth rehabilitation and digital smile design, all done in-house. He has seen first-hand through his work how digital dentistry can positively change the lives of his patients.

Byron graduated with his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago in 2013. He is registered with the New Zealand Dental Council in the scope of General Dental Practice. He worked in private practice in Dunedin for five years and then relocated to Wellington. He has been working at Naenae Dental Clinic since 2019.

Byron is a member of the Institute of Digital Dentistry. Digital dentistry is the future of dentistry and Naenae Dental Clinic is at the forefront. This involves 3D scanning of the teeth and fabricating custom-made crowns, bridges and implant retained prosthetics.

Byron is a member of the New Zealand Dental Association and attends meetings at the Wellington branch. He has previously filled the role of Secretary/Treasurer at the Otago Branch and been the Otago representative of the Young Dentist Action Group.

Dr. Loan Vu was born and raised in the USA. She graduated with a doctorate of dental surgery from the University of Oklahoma (USA) in 2014, then did a general practice residency at Montefiore Hospital in New York (USA) in 2015.

She worked for 8 years as a general dentist in private practice in Singapore. She has now happily relocated to Wellington to join the very special team at Naenae Dental Clinic, merging the best in cutting edge dental technology to create a better patient experience.

Dr. Loan is passionate about providing gentle, empathetic patient care.   She’s friendly and kind and will make you feel at ease.  She loves problem solving and teaching patients how to achieve their best dental health.  She enjoys doing implants, wisdom teeth surgery, Invisalign, and CAD-CAM restorations.

Dr. Loan is an avid traveller who has visited 43 countries. She loves hiking and being in nature.  Her hobbies include photography, chasing sunrises, and rollerskating.
